The Motolite-PBSP Balik-Baterya Program is a partnership between Oriental and Motolite Marketing Corporation (OMMC) and PBSP. This project aims to improve the quality of education nationwide and save the environment through the establishment of Learning Resource Centers (LRCs), and proper disposal of used lead acid-based batteries (ULABs).
Nationwide, the Balik-Baterya Program has collected PhP 30.4 million worth of ULABs equivalent to 1,325 tons of donations secured from 74 donors, including the Federation of Auto Clubs in Cebu (FACC).
FACC’s partnership with the program began in 2009. Since then, the group was able to donate 1.5 tons of ULABs, enough to fund for the establishment of one LRC to be given to one school in the Visayas. |

Employees from Innoland Development Corporation with members from the USC Lions' Club joined the Cebu Hillylands Reforestation Caravan at sitio Cantipla 2, Cebu City. Since 2007, the organization has joined the Foundation for its greening efforts. For this year, the group adopted a hectare for reforestation, which they will completely green on August 14 with 2,500 seedlings. |

Twenty-five urban poor households, particularly women, from Cabancalan, Mandaue City underwent livelihood skills training through the Cabancalan Livelihood Development Project funded by San Miguel Brewery, Inc.
The project, which will run for six months, intends to ensure additional income for their various household needs. To ensure sustainability, the project will also provide basic skills to help beneficiaries on the mechanics of product costing/pricing and budgeting, production planning and quality management.

In a unified call for environment protection, the Philippine Export Zone Authority-Mactan Economic Zone (PEZA-MEZ) and its locators signed an agreement with Oriental and Motolite Marketing Corporation (OMMC) and Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) to support the Balik-Baterya Program by donating all its used batteries for the cause.
The event also marked the start of ULAB collections donated by the 20 PEZA-MEZ locators. The locators' donation of more than 16 tons of ULABs could generate more than PhP 380,000.00, enough to fund for at least nine LRCs. |

More than 800 employee volunteers joined PBSP for the kickoff of the 2011 Cebu Hillylands Reforestation Caravan. For this reforestation kickoff, PBSP targets to plant 15,000 seedlings on six hectares.
PBSP also introduced environmental education this year with the partnership between the Philippine Biodiversity Conservation Foundation Inc. (PBCFI) and Cebu Ornithological Society (COS). Experts from PBCFI discussed on the unique biodiversity of the Cebu Hillylands, as well as the components of Cebu’s forests while COS held an exhibit on wildlife photography and discuss the mechanics of bird watching. |

More than 30 households from a mountainous sitio in Cebu will have improved access to water through the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) or Pag-IBIG Fund’s Potable Water System Project.
This project was made possible through an agreement between Pag-IBIG Fund Cebu South Branch and Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), which involves the establishment of a Level 2 potable water system in sitio Sayaw, Tabunan, Cebu City.
